Who TF is KID BALLISTIC?
Kid Ballistic is the brain child and pseudonym of Carlos Ramirez, a Texas-born, Northern Virginia and New York City-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
Ramirez blends the raucous sonic qualities of grunge, post-hardcore, and indie rock with the ethereal and atmospheric sounds of shoegaze, along with emotionally charged, honest, and melancholic lyrics into a distinctly raw and driven, yet deliberate sound.
"I started making music on my phone when I was in high school as a means to work on my mental health. Since then, I've released over a dozen songs and had the opportunity to study music at a great university and share my music with so many talented people. Although I never had formal musicianship training, nor did I ever really learn how to produce music or write songs, what I did have was a smartphone, some time, and a goal. I hope that one day I can inspire others to pick up an instrument and a notepad, and just let it rip. I want people to know that you don't need super expensive gear and the skills of a god to make something cool. Just make what you think sounds good, learn as you go and see what can come from it. Go ballistic."
